Event pods help teams coordinate LinkedIn event promotion across multiple LinkedIn accounts from a single workspace.
With event pods, you can group contributors together, add a LinkedIn event, define your ideal audience criteria, and allow contributors to help amplify the event by inviting their 1st-degree connections. This makes it easier to increase event visibility, expand reach, and drive more registrations using the combined networks of your team.
Each pod can contain:
Multiple LinkedIn events
Multiple contributor accounts
Audience targeting criteria for invitations
Reach estimates and invite progress tracking
Event pods are designed for teams and workspaces that want to collaborate on promoting webinars, virtual events, product launches, and other LinkedIn events at scale - while keeping outreach organized and measurable.
How does it work?
Event Pods are designed to help teams collaborate on promoting LinkedIn events through multiple contributor accounts. The process works as follows:
Create an Event Pod
Add contributors (LinkedIn accounts you manage) from your workspace. Added contributos will receive an invite on Expandi to join the pod
Add a LinkedIn event(s) to the pod
Define the targeting criteria for invitations, or leave it blank if it'd give you better results
Contributors join the LinkedIn event. Important! Each contributor must attend the event added to the pod.
Contributors automatically send invites to relevant 1st-degree connections on their LinkedIn network
Track estimated reach and invite progress within the pod
How to create an event pod?
To create an event pod:
Open your workspace, go to its menu, and click on the 'Event pods' option
Click on the '+New Pod' button
Write the event pod name and click on the 'Confirm' button
Now, click on the 'View pod' button
How to add contributor(s) to your event pod?
Only LinkedIn accounts that are a part of the workspace you created the event pod for can be added as contributors.
The next step would be to add contributors to your event pod. To do that:
Click on the 'Contributors' tab
Then click on the '+Add contributors' button
Click on the toggle(s) to select LinkedIn account(s) or companies, and when selected, click on the 'Confirm' button
The added contributor(s) will appear in the 'Contributors' list
If later on, you wish to add more contributors, click on the '+Add contributors' button again to add another one
How to add an event(s) to the pod?
After adding contributor(s), click on the 'Events' tab
Click on the '+New Event' button
Add your LinkedIn event to the pod
In the 'LinkedIn Event URL' field, paste your LinkedIn event URL
In the 'Event name' field, write the name of your event
Select the priority for your event pod - Low, Medium, or High
Select the industry or industries for the target audience
Select the company size for the target audience
Add job titles of the target audience. Each job title should be separated by a comma. You can also click 'enter' after adding a job title to save it
You can also leave the 'Criteria' section empty (it's optional) if you see that, with the options selected, the system tells you that you cannot reach many people or 0 people, as shown below
I can see that if I remove the criteria for the event pod selected, way more people could be reached (in my case). That's why I will leave the criteria empty and move forward with the setup.
Once all is set, click on the 'Save' button to proceed
Once you save the event, the event pod will look like this
How to add one more event to the same event pod?
If you want to add multiple LinkedIn events into the same event pod, click on the '+New event' button again and follow the same steps as before, explained in the 'How to create event pod?' section.
Where can you adjust the daily event invite limits for LinkedIn accounts added as contributors to event pods?
To adjust the daily limits for the event invites sent from event pods (they can only be individually adjusted if you're not on the account warm-up at the moment), you should:
Go to the 'LinkedIn settings' of a LinkedIn account on Expandi and click on the 'LinkedIn account limits' option
Scroll down to the 'Daily limits' section and look for the 'Event pod invites' limit
Adjust the daily limit range for it as you wish, and click on the 'Save changes' button to save the changes
What happens after the event pod is created, contributors are added, and limits are adjusted?
After the event pod is created and everything is set up, when your account enters the active times of the day, the system will schedule tasks for the event pod invites.
It can take around an hour for the tasks to be scheduled. All scheduled tasks can be seen under the 'LinkedIn dashboard' page:
As well as the 'Tasks' page:
The tasks for event pod invites will be scheduled for contributors' 1st degree connections on LinkedIn.
You can also see how many invites were sent in the opened event pod itself. Please see below:
How to stop sending event invites from the pod?
In a BETA event pods feature the only ways to stop sending event invites from a created pod are by:
Setting the daily limit for the event pod invites to 0
The easiest way to stop sending event invites from the pod is by setting the daily limit for the event pod invites to 0.
This can be done in the 'LinkedIn settings' -> 'LinkedIn account limits' section.
However, this option wouldn't be the best if you have multiple event pods created and only want to stop sending the invites from one of them.
Deleting added contributors from the pod
To stop the event invites from going out from one of your event pods, you can also just delete the added contributors. Once you do that, the system will have no more people to send the event invites to from that particular pod.
You can delete contributors by opening the event pod created, going to the 'Contributors' tab, and clicking on the delete icon (trash can) next to the contributor(s) added. Once it's done, the pod won't send any further event invites to the event(s) added to that pod.
Deleting the event added to the pod
Another way to stop sending event invites from the pod is by deleting the event(s) added to the pod.
You can do that by opening the event pod and clicking on the delete icon (trash can) next to the added event(s). Once it's done, the pod won't send any further event invites since no events will be a part of the pod.
Deleting the event pod
You can also delete the event pod. This action will delete the pod and everything under it, including events connected to it, contributors added, and pod statistics. Once it's deleted, there's no way to bring it back.
To delete the event pod, on the 'Event pods' page click on the three dots menu, next to the pod, and select the option 'Delete pod'. Once you click on it, the pod will be deleted.
What users can see/manage the event pod(s) created under the workspace?
All users with access to the workspace and the event pods page can see the created event pod. As well as create/edit pods and add new events to the pods.
They can also access the 'Contributors' tab and see LinkedIn accounts that they have permissions to manage.
If they don't have permissions to manage/access specific LinkedIn accounts (added as contributors), they won't see those accounts in the contributors list.
You can check what workspace access the user has in the 'Members' page of the workspace.
